What paper you use for printing will represent what kind of business you are in? If you are selling a luxury apartment, you will not use matte art paper to print your brochures. When your customer picked up your brochure that look like a newsletter, they probably have no confident with what you are selling. 

On the contrary if you use premium paper such as silk paper to print leaflet for a trade show. You are wasting money because customers will be bombarded with flyers, leaflets and brochures. There is a likely chance that your leaflet will end up in the dustbin before the trade show is over.

Gloss art paper

This paper is a bit shiny and is ideal for brochures and leaflet to sell stainless steel products such as cooking pots, motorbike and Selangor Pewters

Children like glossy paper and they can easily influenced their parent to buy what they want. If your target audiences are children, you can consider using this paper.

Printed colours are vibrant and rich, it is also suitable for photography books such as coffee table book.

Silk paper

Silk paper are more exclusive. It is made by binding silk fibers together with cotton and other paper making materials. This process results in a luxurious paper that is soft to the touch and shiny (but not as shiny as glossy paper).

This kind of paper is thicker and more durable. If your document is going to be passed around, you can consider this paper. You can used this paper for catalogue cover in order to protect the thinner papers inside.

Watermarked paper

Watermarked paper contains an image or pattern which can be seen when viewed with lights on the back. 

This paper make you look sophisticated and professional. It is a great way of representing your company. That is why many companies like to print their letterhead with watermarked paper.

Carbon-balanced paper

Carbon-balanced paper is unique. The paper has been evaluated for how much CO2 has been emitted during its production and transportation. 

If your company is concerned about the environment, you can use carbon-balance paper because it is recyclable and very earth friendly.

Recycled paper

Make from 60% to 100% recycled paper pulp. It is basically old paper mixed with water, blended and bonded together again paper. If you want to show that your company is really concern about the environment, you can consider recycled paper.

Recycled paper have been around for quite sometime, many companies in Malaysia are not willing to use recycled paper for their brochures and leaflets but because it is very costly.

Paperboard

Paperboard is a thick paper-based material. It is generally thicker than paper and has certain superior attributes such as foldability and rigidity. They are use for packaging box printing. 

Packaging box printed with paperboard is light weight. You can used this material for packaging box printing because it is strong and will protect the product inside.
